Good deal on VPN
For anyone looking for a good deal on a VPN with UK servers Hotspot Shield is doing a deal on groupon. Its $15 for one year of the elite package. If you buy today and used the promo code EXTRA its $12 for the year. I paid the $12 today and just watched a great show in 4on demand :-)

Re: Good deal on VPN
I have found DNS services to be far superior to VPN ones for streaming stuff from back home.

Re: Good deal on VPN
I'm kind of a newbie to it all. I've been in the USA for 5 years but never got round to trying to watch tv from home. I found the vpn and a laptop hooked up to my tv with a hdmi cable is excellent. I've been gorging on British tv :-)

Re: Good deal on VPN
Smart DNS services are generally much faster than VPNs. Basically with a VPN all your traffic is forced through another computer (think drinking everything through one straw). With a Smart DNS setup, only those packets that have to go through a VPN are routed that way, but other packets are routed via the quickest possible path. So some of it goes through the straw but the rest comes in the fastest way possible. Much better for things like the iPlayer downloader.

Re: Good deal on VPN
On the subject of VPN/DNS and getting a good deal, I purchased a year's subscription of Smart DNS through OverPlay for $30-ish. Use the code: VPNFan Special Offer for VPN Fan Visitors - OverPlay VPN
Worth every penny.
