Hey - i used to work in disney world so i know just about everything there is to do there(i'm wisewols daughter) october is a perfect time to go because its not toooo hot but its also great because of haloween - they start celebrating back in september they have something called mickeys not so scary haloween party its great - you pay for the ticket for the evening (the park is closed to guests with regular tickets - so its much quieter and the queues are shorter!) and theres a special parade - absolutely spectacular fireworks (youve never seen anything like it) called hallowishes and theres trick or treat stations the kids get loads of candy and there are a LOAD more characters out - its my fave time of year at disney - the rest of it depends on how old your kids are - but disney quest in downtown disney is always a hit as are the disney parks and seaworld - universal is more grown up - your never short of great places to eat out there just take a look at i drive and see hwat takes your fancy! if u want more specific info just post pack or PM me - have a great time! you'll love it!

thanks for that - I stumbled across a great site for people going to Disney which has heaps of info and ideas .... I think I'm pretty well sorted now, its just such an enormous place compared to what we're used to! Our island isnt even as big as some of their resorts inside their property ..... frightening!"

Anyone got any recommendations for a good family places to eat in Miami (we're staying at Turnberry Isle so would need to be close) and also any must do things in Disney.

would definately appreciate your info if you have any - thanks

Make your own little autograph book for each kid - they sell them there, but cost a fortune. Everytime the kids meet a character, they will sign in their book - really cute sigs actually.

My friends have taken their kids every year for a while now - they love it. I think especially Epcott.

We took our daughter to Disney World Fla. and Disney World in LA from the age of 4 to 11...she loved it. I am confident your boys will love it. As for you and your husband...just expect it to be OTT and fake...you will have a great time too.

Done Disneyland Paris, Disneyland LA and Disneyworld. Disneyworld is by far the best, lots to do and stuff to appeal to all ages. Just make sure you have ID if you're planning on having a pint in the Rose and Crown pub in Epcot.

And leave reality at the door. Just let yourself be taken in by the Disney 'reality', you'll have fun.

Nothing wrong with that-I bought a book before we went some years back that had all kinds of hints and suggestions on how to get the most out of your time there. Drew up a daily battle plan and it worked well.

One suggestion that was a good one-for the laser show at Epcot, try to get into the Brit pub there and get an outdoor seat on the back terrace on the lake. Excellent.

wonder how they'll cope with 2 island boys who will want to piss in every water feature, strip naked by the pool and call every white person they see a limey white man (they of course think they are black!)
