Flour
A quick question for the bakers:
What is the equivalent of self-raising flour here? Thanks, MH |
Re: Flour
It isn't used too much here, but the King Arthur Flour site says this:
Self-rising flour is simply flour with the baking powder and a bit of salt already added. It's a staple in many Southern recipes; it's traditionally made from a softer, lower protein version of all-purpose flour, which is what grows there. You can make your own in a jiffy, to use in any recipe that calls for self-rising flour. * 1 cup King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour * 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder * 1/4 teaspoon salt |
Re: Flour
There is a self-rising flour sold in our market called "Presto Self-Rising Cake Flour".

Re: Flour
As stated, make your own, you will most likely have the baking powder and salt if you're serious about baking.
Feel free to join us in the Recipe Thread where we've been discussing flour recently CLICK THIS  |
