Hi Guys & Girls

I got my visa interview on the 16th Nov, stuck with that cause I wanted a friday!

once I have the yes from the embassy, is it up to me how I purchase a flight.

I.e if i purchase a return ticket with the return being months later is that acceptable or do I have to have a one way flight?

Would the immigration officer have a dim view of me having a return ticket months later?

You can book whatever you like. I used a return because it was cheaper.

Not only the "yes" from the embassy, but when you actually have the visa in hand. Yes, it's up to you how you purchase a flight.

You do not have to have a one-way flight. You can have a return ticket, for a return of whichever date you would like.

Would the immigration officer have a dim view of me having a return ticket months later?
No, he won't care at all.

How would he even know... unless you tell him?

Where are you flying from and where are you going? I've been searching on skyscanner and I can find one way flights with Aer Lingus and Icelandair from several UK airports cheaper than any return flights. They seem to be the only ones that offer this, almost everyone else it's better to buy return.
