Default feeling low

just wanted to know if anyone else has their house for sale on sunshine coast. have put ours up for sale and not much interest, had 3 agents round and gone with the lowest valuation as trust the agent more, had 2 open homes and not much interest at all. we have now received a letter from the agent telling us that its a buyers market and is very slow etc etc.

i am feeling very low about the whole thing, my daughter is depressed and desperate to get her old life back, my sons are in uk waiting for us, all we need to do is sell the house, everyday seems so long when you are waiting. have tried to keep occupied but its hard. anyone else in the same boat?

Sorry to hear about the above news.
Selling a house is stressfull enough, nevermind if there are other issues waiting to be sorted.

I am going to be selling my house in Victoria in the coming months to move back to the UK, so no doubt we'll experience similar emotions.

Perhaps ask the agent what they think they can do to get better interest with your property ( they may suggest lowering the price again , so be careful)

Maybe a consideration would be rent the property out , while you move back to the UK ( when the market picks up again , instruct them to SELL ! )

If you need the money from the sale to move back , then it scuppas that idea.

Sorry i couldnt help anymore..
All the best

We're in exactly the same boat only we've had ours on the market for two months now. We've had 4 home opens and no luck at all. We've had no view by appointments at all. We're having another home open this weekend, waste of time really but the house could do with a good clean!!!!!

If you're like us you need the money to go back with. Just hold out for a while, it's early days yet. It'll happen eventually.

Chin up chuck.

The house will sell. We have just sold our business and it completes on the 30th of April. I am praying it all goes through. In the meantime we have to get the house finished so we can put it on the market and hopefully it will sell straight away. Realistically though if it doesnt we will have to get jobs to pay the mortgage until it sells. So yes we are also in the same boat and no its not easy.

Good luck though just try and make the most of the time you have left here whilst spending as little money as possible.

Lots of us in your position.

Houses not selling anywhere by the looks of it. Why the market gets like this in the first place is beyond ridiculous..i blame the EA for valuing them out of their league.
I bought in the boom, selling in the doom...so lost both ways.

HI nu

you should put a link to your house underneath your never under estimate thingy.

I am going to when mine finally goes up for sale.

Hi Nic,

Thats great news!!! When do you actually go back?
been off "BE" for a bit trying to sort out our move back........things are finally coming together. Been a very stressful time. Anyone who is gong through this crap I give you my full sympathy. It is very hard being somewhere when you want to be somewhere else.

I remember making the decision to leave and feeling that the time would never come. I see so many obstacles in the way, but one by one they have kind of sorted themselves out. Not as ideal as we'd like, but grateful that there is at last some light at the end of the tunnel. We leave next week and are going to stop in Thailand and Dubai for a while so that we get back refreshed rather than stressed!

Hang in there everyone!!! It will all be ok.

Hi Kel

I wondered if you had already up and left love

Yes by some sort of miracle the business has sold and to top it all off I found the buyer so no brokers fees

We are still in the process of finishing the renovations so that should be another 3 weeks or so and then the house will go on the market. If it hasnt sold by august we are going to go back for the start of the school year and try and rent it. But fingers crossed it goes. Anyway I cant really worry about that now as I have to keep the momentum going on the business sale.

Wow a holiday before heading home as well that will be such bliss after everything you have been through I wish it was me.

good luck and keep posting

hasn't it?! I wondered who had pressed the fast forward button!!! Actually trying to drag the time out now!!! Do you think I may be a ping pom in the future?! We have already discussed going back to make enough to get a small buy to let out here........just incase!! Although we said that we will not put the boys through that again, just be good for investment......

feel very confused but looking forward to seeing everyone and hugging my nieces and nephews!!

Also become a great aunt in the last week, so can't wait to snuggle my new great nephew, what a lovely home coming!!

how are your plans going?

I am in Texas but know BC very well. There, housing market really shows a lot of fluctuations to do with time of the year.I reckon in the coming weeks things are going to pick up in sales.I was speaking to some realtors only this morning and they confirm what I had been seeing lately on MLS and that is deals closing faster than Jan/Feb08...To get over your bad feeling think about those millions of Brits who would rather be in Sunshine Coast !
