Default Family life in America

One minute he is sitting at home with his wife and adult son after an evening out. A few minutes later his wife, son, and daughter are all dead, after he had shot and killed his daughter and son-in-law in self defense.

Estranged daughter and her husband kill her mother and brother

I was concerned because it's only 10 miles from where we are moving to, but then I realised the problem solved itself.

Very sad indeed. I read on the local town's news article that they disowned the daughter when she was 20 due to her breaking into the parents home and stealing and vandalised it (IIRC). Sounds like she planned on killing them all and then setting the house on fire. Simply beyond my comprehension.

Can you imagine holding a grudge that long and planning it for 20 years? And then the father shoots her and doesn't recognize that it's his daughter.

No, I cannot imagine it. My heart goes out to the father. The loss and the heartache he must be going through...

^ That.

I can't say it any better, nor do I have anything to add to it.
