I remember Mary Hopkins winning back in 1970. I was only seven. I thought she was great

Wait - I'm wrong - Ireland won that one...

My wife thinks it's the funniest show on TV. But then again the awful songs combined with Terry Wogan's commentary doead make the whole thing a good laugh.

Unfortunately, no.

Tho, that just sparked an idea.
A state song contest - entries must reflect the style and type of music most known in each state.

We'd have hiphop from NY, country from Texas, gunshots from West Virginia, bugger all from Alaska.

Aha! One up on all of you! Check my siggie for lyrics to "Mountain Dew" - a legendary WV tune!

Actually if you have a local Polish or other Eastern European tv channel on your local tv network then you will probably get it. I noticed it was on some channel I couldn't understand last year here in Chicago. We also have Chinese tv!

So the Irish have finally cottoned on to what us Brits figured out years ago. If you win Eurovision you have to host it the next year. Hence, every year we enter a godawful tune that has no chance of winning.
