Cee-rist - now Al Gore has appeared on stage.
I find it deeply ironic that in the US - a country which leads the way in the production of pollution - he is now regarded as some kind of environmental crusader even though his movie is jam packed with factual inaccuracies and just plain bunkum and that he did nothing, that's NOTHING to forward the welfare of the planet when he was in office.
Ok - back to the bloody dixie chicks now

It's the final 'Extras' in the series next Sunday and there will be a mystery guest star.
We switched over to watch the end of the Grammys but it was boring....I think the Dixie Chicks only did well because they had caused some controversy by saying that they were ashamed to be from Texas because Dubya was from there and they've been banned from being played on many country music stations. As well as Al Gore being there it was purely a political reason that they won a number of awards.
The girl singing with Justin Timberlake was good.....didn't she win some kind of vote amongst two other girls to get the spotlight on stage?

The dixie chicks winning was very, very political. Reminded me of the good ole eurovision and greece 12 points from Cyprus and vice versa

true....but he was funny.
Thing I noticed, speeches at the bafta's tend to be shorter and less blubber than the oscar's, and also a lot more rude...which is pretty amusing...though annoying that they had to have adverts every few minutes.

They have a right to say whatever they want and people have a right to not buy their records because of it. I think I'd have more respect for them if they had said what they said re: the President here in the U.S. instead of trying to gain favor with the audience by saying it while abroad. Of course now liberals who normally wouldn't be caught dead associating with anything having to do with "country" music are buying their stuff just to show support.
