I have some good soup recipes that are easy and cheap if you want them, pm me with your email address and I'll send you them.
Frozen veggies are great. I'll use frozen green beans over so-called "fresh" ones anyday. What's the cost of tinned fish like up there? Tinned tuna is great for lunches but I find it quite pricey down here. Oatmeal is my breakfast too, but with milk nothing else unless it's the weekend and hubby pours a bit of whiskey over it (leftover from Scotland days!). I would say walking is great exercise for you. Have you looked at amazon.com for delivery of household stuff? |

errr, Hotscot, what division were you working in?
"The 'lab' was organised into a number of subject-based divisions, including Creep Division," Radiation Monitoring. I developed a Caesium isotope method for more accurately measuring the radiation flux in the sea around Sellafield/Windscale. It mainly ended up in Ireland. |

It used to amuse a friend of mine who was an engineer for Scottish Nuclear in EK that the Scottish Environmental building was just over the road.....and another friend who worked for SEPA said that this was no accident.....

Re: Diet and exercise - a group discussion?
I've got a training run in the morning, last week we all went to Torchy's Tacos afterwards for breakfast and some of the group drank mimosas.....I think I've found the right group for me ;) 7 miles in the morning so I think I deserve a bit of fizz to keep me going for the rest of the day.

Impersonating a sloth over the winter has taken its toll. Just been for a 5k run, it took 38 minutes and I think I may have killed my lungs!

Aye!
South Lanarkshire for 8 years. First 2 kids were born there. First house was about a mile away from Carstairs....... Which I didn't know about until I drove past it on my way to Edinburgh about 3 days after moving in. Then I had a visit from the local police to advise me on what to do if I heard "the siren"! Oh dear, suddenly all those gorgeous floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides of the living room seemed like a scene from a potential horror movie!! I grew up in Carluke - my dad now lives in Carnwath. Grew up on the scary stories about Carstairs! |
Re: Diet and exercise - a group discussion?
My kids were born at Law Hospital in Carluke! I lived in Pettinain and had to drive over that tiny bridge with the bend as you came off it, of course I skidded on ice and ended up next to the river. The farmer hadn't bothered to put a proper hedge up since someone drives through it every year....
I've just downgraded my hopes for a half-marathon on the advice of the coach. I end up in such pain after 5 miles so I'm now aiming for a 10k instead, need to get more miles in. |

I can run a few hundred feet before I have to stop to catch my breath and breathe. |
