Dear Old Mother, 96 today.
Happy Birthday to my MUM, 96 today, YEAHHHHHHHHHH
For those that remember the news, of mother breaking her hip 9/2010.
Mother gave up her house (2 story) now lives in Assisted Living flat, not doing so great, virtually blind & deaf. Yet the feisty old timer, they don't build them like this anymore, keeps on ticking. Now sad news, she has cancer in her eye, they need to remove the eye. She says, "Ok, get on with it, least it will get rid of the cancer", there's positive thinking. Pre-war stock, they broke the mold on the older ones.
We ordered via Interflora UK, Flowering plant & Chocolates & Teddy Bear, deliver 9am - 6pm, useless tossers still not delivered, now 7.0pm. Calling UK, several times, their tracking it, but can't reach courier. USELESS TOSSERS.
Could have, should have, called brothers got them to buy & deliver for me, but always seems like, "OK sigh, alright guess so", so try to do things long distance. Now SWMBO, is giving it to me over the shoulder, "I would have done it differently, @#$%^&*^&&^%".
Living so far away, just makes it all so difficult & sad. Thinking of all of you with similar situations, aging parents, thousands of miles away.

Best wishes to you mum, and understand how you feel about doing things from so far away. You are always in the hands of other people.
That's the thing about SWMBOs, they would always have done whatever differently but of course they never actually do it. Don't take any stick.

Happy birthday to your mum! When mine was still with us (made it to almost 99!), I used to telephone her local florist to place my order, just gave them my credit card info and the flowers would be there first thing.
