We *actually* have wooden blinds WITH curtains (on rods) pushed back permanentely.
AND a window scarf!

The music room has valances we made from mudcloth.

I agree they're too bare on their own. I'd better do something in this office, I don't know. It's metal mini blinds in here.

I am sat here, supposed to write an interesting report on the most boring subject imaginable, and you guys are talking about curtains

Could you possibly spice this up a little and provide some interesting diversion so that I don't go completely spare...

That's them.

We bought some of that lacy material by the yard in Heidleberg. Love them in my kitchen and bathroom windows in the summer.
