As for smoking during office hours, we are entitled to two 10 minute breaks per day. I use one in the morning and one in the afternoon for my cigarette break.

Only if you are using their system to do your e-mailing during those off times. Otherwise bring your own laptop to the office or blackberry or whatever and have a go at it on that.

I regularly mailed my husband lists of things I needed him to pick up from the shop on the way home from work, funnily enough I was always needing lemons, lemon curd, lemon meringue and red apples.
Obviously it's quite sad to admit to but I used to get a fair bit of pleasure knowing that little cretin was having to read my made up shopping lists.
