Default Christmas Drama

Christmas is coming and I wont be going home to the UK to see family for it this year due to money being tight. So all presents I get will have to be shipped or delivered.

What does everyone else do in this situation? Buy presents, put them all in one big box and send them via fedex? Or buy online and get the gifts sent directly via the website your buying them from?

Where should I be looking for christmas presents (father, mother, brother 25 and sister 26)? What kind of "American" gifts make good presents and are easy to send? not to mention a decent price!

one website I came across was:
http://www.iwantoneofthose.com
anyone heard/used this company before?

can christmas be cancelled this year?

Amazon all the way for mine. But seriously wish I could cancel Christmas from a relatives perspective. I have enough trouble trying to work out what to get Mrs tonrob.

We have been sending Christmas/birthday/anniv' gifts through the online gift stores for quite a few years now, you can find pretty much anything on there, they wrap and gift tag your order too if you want them too.

Touching wood, we have never had any problems with deliveries etc, I love sending gifts this way, the shipping costs when you send your own 'boxes' are getting ridiculous and I always ended up missing the early cheaper postal dates!

My Sis just sent me a box of Cadbury's Christmas goodies from the UK, she said the contents cost her around 80 pounds, but with shipping it cost over 140 quid!!
her comment was "now I remember why I don't send you stuff any more"

I used a company called presentfinder.co.uk for a recent birthday - lots of 'novelty' gifts and they will take your US Credit Card

I always use Amazon UK. Another idea is to send your relatives a food/drink order via Tesco or Sainsburys. You do have to book your delivery time-slot early though.

I no longer have to send overseas but when I did, I mailed the xmas package by "boat" and sent it out the beginning of November for xmas delivery.

Now I have to mail all the presents for xmas for the grandkids in Mississippi. I send it piecemeal by UPS and for Canada we also use UPS.

I've used I want one of those a few times, always been reliable.

I love Crocus, always use them for my MIL as she loves gardening.

Hotel Chocolat is a nice alternative to Thorntons, but like everyone else I love Amazon too.

They have vouchers or Gift Cards...whatever you want to call them for lots of shops in the UK. I use them all the time and have had no problems at all.

me and hubby are not sending xmas pressies this year - its too expensive!!! And its not like we have any kids in the family - the adults will just have to realise that we are not made of money - and can save some money themselves by not sending us stuff!!!
