I went to Home Depot yesterday to take the kids to the kids workshop anyway no workshop but ended up seeing the tree lot and brought one home.....this is the earliest I've ever started decorating as I usually start around Mid Dec....well now I'm feelling Xmassy....will I be able to maintain this Xmas excitement for another 22 days??

Ours went up last saturday even decorated the outside of the house looks like a damn grotto in and out, we never decorated in the UK until mid december but over here it seems to be customery to get them up alot sooner, the neighbours were out Thanksgiving all down our street it looked like they were in some kind of competition who could get the most up and the soonest.

Yes it does put you in the spirit of things especially with the snow.

Why can't they be put up early? Is there a specific date that they have to go up?

You lot do your thing and we do ours I'm not changing just because I live here for now, I can't remember the exact date but I prefer to put them up around the 20th and take them down on the 2nd.

Went out today and looked around for a tree. First lot had them for $60 to $80 each. Forget that.

Went to Wally World and got one for $23, a 6 footer too. Got it up in the room right now, threw in some of that tree food stuff with the water and it looks great.

$60 to $80 :scared: Bloody rippoff.

Thats not a bad deal Matt We are going really wacky this year, black tree's were a big sell out in London last year, so Hub's has sprayed ours black, it's in the shed at the moment, it will only have white and silver Dec's on it, I will put a photo up in the gallery when it's up, I know it sounds pretty strange, but I like to do thing's a little different

Me too although I usually leave them up until 12th night. My neighbour still had her tree up last year until Valentines day and at the moment you can see our neighbourhood from outer space!

Be careful everyone, dried out trees are the biggest cause of fires this time of year!!!

It's not a real tree, I cant stand the mess It was a plastic spray paint, and the tree looks very shiny indeed.
