How about an online auction? I've started the bidding at $30. Ash pm's address to winner. Winner mails cheque made payable to nnff to Ash. Ash forwards the cheque to nnff and mails the choccies to the winner.

Any comments?

Could the Mods make this thread a sticky temporarily and rename the thread to reflect the auction for charity?

Where are all the bids? It still seems like a low price to me for those goodies and helping a good cause.

I'm sending a cheque direct to NFF as I don't want the chocolates either. Do you want me to do it in memory of your mother?

I reckon you'd probably have got a higher total (ie small amounts from more people) with a raffle. I'll send a donation direct - thanks for the link Ash

It seems it may be that way. It might not be too late to change it back. It would especially work out if it was $5 per entry to the raffle - I'm sure that would easily make $100+.

Based on the number of people wanting to bid ie you & me, I'm not so sure.

I agree. I'd be happy to buy a raffle ticket (or two) at $5.

Either way, I'll donate to NFF.

Probably more a case of more people would give up $5, than would give want to give $50+ for the goodies.

I agree - I normally buy a ticket for each of us - ie 5 x $3 (or $5 or whatever the price is - within reason!). I think a lot of people would chip in 3 or 5 for one ticket, maybe a few tickets....but once an auction gets to $40 or $50, a lot of folk are going to drop out or not get involved and it loses steam - I guess thats why you see the RNLI, Help the aged etc etc selling raffle tickets rather than holding auctions...........

How do we pay for raffle tickets?
