I tried to get her to bring a load of Gregg's pasties - but she said no Thinking I may stock up on some Fray Bentos when beck over Christmas
I think OTT. This was over 8 years ago now. Probably saw the description and assumed real meat.

We actually had a request to bring some over by someone who saw them in an episode of An Idiot Abroad and wanted to try them. They were very well received.

They aren't really things I seek out while I'm here, it's more that we grab a few to bring back just because we happened to be there, more than anything else.

The US customs confiscated the pork pies which I brought over a few years back. The sad thing is you cant get a decent meat pie here. That's opposed to a hamburger of course

Cheaper and easier for me to get them rather than go hunting them down all over her local area as we have a very busy Christmas ahead from the moment I get there! No good letting the OH get these things before I come as she has no idea what they actually are lol.

I have never understood why people use gravy granules when it's basically just as easy to make actual gravy, and it's about 1,000,000 times nicer!

She has been here! We spent most of the time she has been here eating fish and chips, cornish pasties, pub grub, sausage rolls, etc. Things that would not be allowed back in the US! We figured other stuff to try I could just take over when I visit!

Very logical OH I have!

I bring cheese and onion crisps back in hand luggage every trip, along with hard cheeses. But I am rarely stopped nowadays - I just list chocolate, cheese and crisps.

They're a bit pricey though. I refuse to spend $3 to get a can of Heinz Baked Beans or $4 for a pack of Twiglets or Hobnobs with an original price of under 50p

If you make it to MA, KO Pies in Boston are very good and Thwaites Market in Methuen...

I use it because I'm the only one who likes gravy and I can't be arsed to make a full pan when a spoon of granules will do the trick. Plus, it's more handy for when making pies...

i would go along with this, gravy doesn't seem to be as popular here. It's just something that is used with stuffing, not the whole dinner.

Dried fruit is allowed (though just about every dried fruit I can think of is available in the US anyway), and Amazon sells Fray Bentos pies, though they're not cheap.

If you have an Indian store, you can often find Heinz beans for around $1.
