Don't worry if Trump becomes President he might lend the RN a flat top or two. After all Trump doesn't like Spanish speaking people either

Will I be sad to see European Union not stamped on my passport if they vote to leave? No. Do I think the UK will be dropping a massive bollock should they vote to leave? Yes.

I've heard gleeful comments from some Brexit supporters over the possibility that the whole EU will break up if the UK leaves. Wonderful news for Putin without a doubt and he'll be sure to exploit it.

Well if it does happen, this time it took 70 years for Europe to completely bollocks itself up once again. The last time it took 21 years.

Don't underestimate the powers-that-be to fix the election.

At this point I am more interested in what is good for Europe (which, btw, still includes the UK geographically) and the world than just what is good for the UK.

Sorry, I've never been very good at this nationalism thing ...

This stems from Norway being in the EEA, IIRC. The EEA was created in 1994, and the EU in 1992.

In return for free access to EEA/EU member states from a trade perspective, Norway also has to accept the free movement of EU citizens and conform with all the rules, laws and legislation covering a large number of safety and other standards affecting trade, food, health and so on. In other words, the 2 biggest areas of focus for the LEAVE campaign, remain unchanged as a member of the EEA, except you now aren't part of the decision making process that creates these rules, regulations and laws, so your influence is even less.

Excuse my ignorance ... can you educate me ... when did we first get 'European Union' passports?

I remember traveling to France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Holland in the early 80s by car and I don't think I ever had to show my passport.
