Hi all,

We are still in the USA, we leave tommorow to go home. My husband has been interviewed and it looks like we will be moving to the USA pending a succesful visa application (R1 non- immigrant visa)
We have the assistance of immigration lawyers in the USA payed for by his future employers which is a great help.

What I wanted to know is regarding the visa interview in London, can you choose the date or are you allocated one without choice? If you can't make the date do you go to the back of the queue?

You get some choice depending on availability of appointments.

I booked my appointment today and was looking for something in the week commencing 19th May as that is when I will be back in the UK. I was offered a choice of the Monday, Wednesday or Friday of that week and having chosen the date, I was given a choice of three different times (all a.m. appointments).

It is quite reassuring to know that we can have some choice, we have so much going on in the next few months I was worried that this would be a headache.
