BBC has some amazing shows but why can't we get them in the USA? How many times do we have to see Gordon Ramsay?

Here's your first problem. BBCAmerica is not the BBC, it isn't controlled by the BBC, it has virtually no connection to the BBC except in name and it doesn't get any money from the BBC. It is a separate commercial corporate entity and has to buy its shows just like any other channel.

I think BBC Worldwide would be surprised to hear that.

Ok, but the point still stands BBC Worldwide is a wholly owned but separate entity from the BBC. BBCAmerica cannot receive any funding from the BBC.

The distance between BBC America and the 'real' Beeb is shown by the fact that BBC America broadcasts programs aired in the UK on commercial channels. Admittedly most of the content seems to be re-cycled BBC output. A lot of it isn't bad, but it gets repeated far too often.

I gave up with BBCA long ago. If it's good enough to watch then I've already downloaded and watched it by the time BBCA shows it.

For much of their stuff, true. Either that or the dear old iPlayer.

However, some stuff just isn't worth the effort to rush at, such as Mitchell & Webb. So, when it eventually turns up on BBCA it gets watched there. Mind you, the latest lot of that was sub-standard...

And they did serve up some of the 6 Nations this year.

I think it is better than it used to be... I remember when I first moved here it seemed like everytime I turned it on it was showing either 'Are you being served' or 'Keeping up appearance's'. Haven't seen either of those shows in quite a while on there.
