:scared:

Ok so I got into work today and had a big meeting with the boss. He is very scary has books like 'humans as capital' no joke that is the actual title. He said that he has sensed a lack of total commitment on my part in the last year (no s##t sherlock- could this be due to having a baby in Dec last year and complete homesickness? ) and that he wants to see more involvement in projects and overtime.

I am at the end of my tether- which probably explains me calling a Realtor today and asking them to come and look at my house with view to selling in the spring. What am I thinking? Am frightened now- but am chuckling away at my desk all the same.

Go on chuckling, Sweetheart - you know your chuckle-gear is directly connected to your gut, and your gut has a straight electrode to your heart, and taken together they are way more important than that grey (not gray!) matter that's swirling around inside your skull!!! Meaning that, however many rational arguments there may be for staying, you won't be happy if the other factors are out of kilter. So unless there are really pressing reasons for NOT going...

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if it feels right, go for it - and good luck!

Thanks this is all too true- there are many rational reasons to stay but I am not in a rational logical place at the moment

Sorry to hear about your meeting with the boss. I TOTALLY understand you calling a realtor. It was after a particularly bad day at a client site and my boss telling me over the phone I'd have to learn to deal with my stress to be good at my job that I blurted out that she wouldn't have to worry about it because I'd be moving back to the UK. The next day I handed in my notice... before we even had my wife's visa or the house on the market!

Hang in there... you'll be out of there before you know it.

Wow so want to do that!! didn't realise you had made it happen so quickly! Now is such a crappy time in the housing market but the house should look lovely in the Spring which gives me almost 4 months, still seems like ages but isn't at all to get everything done. Have no idea if the house will sell quickly or anything don't want the buyers to know how much I need top dollar. Have been making plans and feeling good though.

My boss did say if I can't see the new schedule of overtime working for me they can sort me out a severance package am very tempted to take it in the new year.

Wow, when you say four months it really does sound close! That severance package sounds interesting... I wonder if it would be enough to last you a few months?

Supposed to be three months wages, but wouldn't know for sure unless I was to show interest in it which I am not ready to do yet for fear of the chop

Our house I hope will be going on the market this spring....not that we are leaving the States...just hubby is no longer happy at his job so time to move on...the new owner of the company wants to outsource to India any new jobs... he laid 57 Americans off last week after taking on 22 from India a few months before...so its time to call it a day...I will be sad to move on in a way...we have been here in MA 7 years and it was just feeling like home...but I don't want to spend another 3 years waiting for that day hubby comes home jobless...time to go out on our own and buy a business..
