Default Baggage allowance

Hello.

We are getting ready to pack.. Moving to the US in a month or so. Haven't booked the tickets. Wanted some Intel on baggage.

How many suitcases are allowed on a Business class from London to US?

Also, my company will reimburse usd500 for excess baggage. Any idea how many additional suitcases can be take for that allowance?

Thank you.

Probably best to check with the airline. Also if you have reached a certain status with the airline, they may allow more,

Thanks. I am still few days away from booking the ticket/speaking to the airlines. Thought folks here may have knowledge about baggage also.

My husband travelled every week with a certain airline. We took around a dozen pieces of luggage at no extra charge, but that was in the 1996. Worth checking if one of you is a frequent flyer.

Different rules for different airlines. Someone like BA has full baggage details on their website.

What they said, but generally with business class you will get two bags of 7olbs/32kgs plus a carry on bag. Excess charges will vary.

For way of comparison, Virgin offer two free bags per person weighing 32kg each in Upper, but you can pay 140 GBP per extra bag (7 more per person it seems). It used to be three free, we brought our limit of 12 as a family back in 2016! You can also have a carry on item, which is a small suitcase in reality, per person.
