The doctor who attended to the baby girl credits her onboard delivery team with doing everything just right. Because Nadine was 6 weeks premature, Dr. Michael Graven says it was especially important to get her into an incubator quickly.

The newborn weighs in at only four pounds, 14 ounces, but her doctor says she is perfectly healthy and ready to head home to Egypt at any time.

Because she was born in Canadian airspace, baby Nadine will have Canadian citizenship.

A lot of airlines will allow flying up till 34 or 36 weeks with doctors note. A couple of years ago we had one airline (I think continental, but wouldn't swear to it - may have been NW) tell us 38 weeks with Doctors note for domestic :scared: .

I wouldn't be suprised if an airline does extend some sort of sovereignty. Look at the way american airlines enforce america's ridiculous over 21 drinking. My friend was flying united and they refused to serve her because she was 20, any other airline she would have been fine.. I wonder if the same would apply to anyone attempting the mile high club.. if they were under 18...

The birth certificate will be very interesting where it says place of birth!

Damn - why do those exciting things never happen on my flights? I only seem to get the bladder infection calls

Am I being very naive? If the person travelling is NOT traveling for the purposes of immigration ie on that very journey - why would the child be given a passport for any other country than that of her mother or father according to the Immigration rules for their country(ies)
It seems ridiculous to give citizenship this way.

I think it is a 'feel good' law more than anything else. From what I understand anyway.

Read something a while ago that "they" believe some doctors are refusing to identify themselves because of liability issues. Sad state of affairs if true!
