arghh
Today on the entertainment page of the bbc news site the picture of the day is of a British fry-up. It looks handsome and every time i flick past the page i keep finding myself staring at it - how sad am I!
ps - the thing next to it is a waxwork!

Where's the tattie scone? It's not a 'proper' fry up without one
(Cue the list of things that plate is missing....)

Re: arghh
What is that thing at the front of the plate with the spiral marking? About the size of an eggroll?

Re: arghh
Ohhh... I could just go a nice, hot, steamin' plate of fried bread, beans, egg, bacon, sausage, mushrooms and tomatoes. Oh now wouldn't that just be heavenly. With a nice cool glass of freshly squeezed orange juice alongside. Followed by white toast and marmalade and big pot of tea!
I gotta go stay in an English hotel again... I used to luuuurrrve their breakfasts.

Re: Cabdriver's Breakfast
Here's what London cabbies have for breakfast:
Fried bread (2 slices)
Fried eggs (2)
Fried bacon (3 rashers)
Pork sausages (2)
Fried mushrooms
Fried tomatoes
Black pudding (3 slices)
Beans
All washed dahn wiv a pint of scaldin' 'ot tea!
I enjoyed this delicious, nourishing, and healthy repast with a cabby friend of mine in an East End 'caff' a few years ago.
Whenever I mention it to the locals, they recoil in horror for some reason. Maybe because it doesn't include a stack of sticky 'pancakes' smothered in syrup!
Funny folk, Yanks ....

After seeing that picture, I think there should be no more complaining about American food.

Add another sausage
Get rid of the beans
Instead have fried mushrooms and a few (tinned) plum tomatoes
Swap the toast for fried bread (naughty but nice)
and to top it off lashings of brown sauce preferably HP
All washed down with a mug of "builder's" tea
