Pack it in. If you can't post politely please don't bother posting on any BE forum. Your tone is causing trouble in more than one place and its not wanted.

In addition, can you all please stop discussing the banning of a certain poster. He's gone, nuff said, can we all please move on.

I think you will find "Drama Queen" is on Songbird`s own self description. So I`m just repeating that. Hardly think what I have put is offensive but if it has offended Songbird then I will send her a PM to apologize.

this thread is getting surreal ...

'Drama Queen' is the sub-title used by Songbird herself - just as you use 'Prowling Witch'. So if we were to say, "...you nice old prowling witch", would that be offensive?

I'm all for the banning, he pissed me off big time, but - I don't see any harm in someone questioning it.

Maybe we should all just start discussing the weather, or, the price of tea in China ...

Think you will find my warning is more to do with the upsetting of certain conservative elements on the Canadian forum (People that have been on it a long time) who strangely find an outside opinion disturbing!

Was always under the impression, that unless you were verbally insulting somebody with strong offensive language (Obvious words) or were blurting out extremist right or left wing views there shouldn`t be a problem with what you say on this forum.

As said above if Songbird wants an aplogetic PM then will certainly send it.

:rofl:See how easy it is for summat to get misunderstood?? Why on earth would i require an apology?? Apologize for what?? As I see it we were having a bit of friendly banter - thats exactly how I took your comment. I will require a VERY public apology ( oh and a box of chocolates and flowers, and maybe a gift voucher for Victoria's Secrets )for the 'old' comment though, failing that I reserve my right to kick your butt :p

@ Pollyana - it's all cool here no worries - just kicking it around a bit :)

As you say certain things can easily get mis-understood because language is such a powerful tool that can easily get mis-interpreted.

Anyway I will still say SORRY to you just to clear things up and certainly lay off the old.

As for the chocolates, flowers and the juicy voucher. I don`t think your husband/boyfriend would be to impressed so I won`t send them:)

actually I wasn't questioning the actual banning per se ( like I have said) - merely the response to it :p As far as discussions go I actually thought it was very balanced and civilized. Different people see things from different perspectives, at no time (well as far as I can see) was there any great ruffling of feathers ( maybe we should have took it to TIO - then we could have really let rip *lol* )

By the way what is the weather like round your way? We are still enjoying sunshine here though the temp has started to drop :( One good thing though is at least we can have that damn noisy a/c off - peace glorious peace!!

PFFFT! don't you dare apologize to me. That really would offend me that if you thought I was the type of person that didn't recognise a bit of banter ( and respond in kind) when i saw it. Truly Jules it is NOT necessary - we are cool:thumbup:

jajajaja I saw it just as a bit a banter as well and knew from your charcter and what you wrote that you would see it as a bit of banter as well:thumbsup:. But maybe some people don`t:(.................... Anyway I see that you are from West Virginia. Me being an avid historian, I have a special interest in the American Civil War and have always wanted to visit Virginia to look at some of the famous battlefields there.

I'm actually 'from' the UK - but been here in wild WV for about 18 months now :)
As for the 'war of northern aggression' (*lol* yes the Rebel Flag is still hoisted with pride by many round this way, generally accompanied with a rendition of 'The South Will Rise Again' ) then I do believe there are many places of interest here. Happen you should come a traveling - it's warmer than Canada as well :p

Is America the greatest country in the world? No not imo but it's certainly an interesting experience and obvious gripes aside it's one I'm enjoying. I just wish I had the time (and means ) to fully explore it :)

Spoke to an American from New York state not too long ago, about ideal climates in which to live in. I said the ideal climate would be somewhere not too hot or not too cold and with a good amount of rainfall and great countryside and he said that Virginia is all of this:)

As for the rebel flag, well when I was living in Peru I even saw it on the back of a car there:eek:...........With these same words "The South Will Rise Again" So it certainly does get around. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm but I suppose Peru is in a southerly direction:)

Suffice to say those comments you are referring to were removed ( as indeed other people's posts have been when they are considered to have crossed the line) that's par for the course on any chat board. Without having actually seen the posts it's difficult for me to say much more really other than make the observation that they weren't obviously considered offensive enough for an outright ban.

No need to apologize for not commenting, your comment wan't being required. But you do seem to have commented plenty anyway. As you didn't see the posts - just let me say that you aren't particularly correct in your guesses. And apparently those posts were (cumulatively) considered offensive enough for a ban - the poster got warnings, then was banned since he continued doing the SAME thing.

Perhaps a mod or someone who saw the posts could be kind enough (assuming they agree) to post here and say Kali was as nasty and offensive to some others as he was to Uncle Eb and put this thread out of it's misery.

Oh WV has GREAT weather! Bearable summers ( max at about 90 degrees , mild Fall ( glorious colours ), Xmas card winters ( snow!) leading into Spring and all that luscious growth. Certainly can't complain about the weather :)
