Default Airline Check-in on the way to POE

I wonder if anyone can help me here, I wasn't 100% convinced by the airline's call-centre response

I am checking in to my flight online and these two questions appear:
Are you a resident of the USA?
Do you have a permanent residence permit or Alien Resident Card?

I'm leaning towards answering no to both as at the time I get on the flight that's the case - but is this correct? My visa in my passport only becomes the equivalent of a permanent residence permit after it's endorsed at the POE, yes?

Thanks

Yep. Until you land and get stamped, you don't have an I-551 document.

mr_b, don't be surprised at having your IV examined closely at check in. Because you're 'unusual' in their daily experience.. "special" we like to say.

They just have to make sure you have appropriate entry docs so they don't have to pay to fly you home.
Tomorrow already!!!!!
