You can do international wire transfers online with BofA. There's a $35 fee.
I just moved some money from my BofA account to a UK account. It would be just as easy to do the same thing if I was in the UK. All you need is the UK sort code of the bank and the account number.

Daylight robbery just to have them press a button the computer don't you think?
Unless they have a fantastic exchange rate I think it's cheaper to use Xe or Forex (no fees) they give a slightly different exchange rate to make their money.
