Andrew Yang tears into the Democrats for becoming a party of 'urban coastal elites' who have abandoned the working class and are more concerned with 'policing cultural issues' after their dismal results

Surprised it has taken this long to notice.

Bernie said it first I think, but I'm pleasantly surprised by this take.

I don't like the tech bro thing, and he's still way too capitalistic for my liking. Obviously it's a no brainer that UBI's a good idea, no shit Andy.

But, he has a point here. Intersectionality is important but class unity wins out every time.

Dems have done more for the working class than the Repubs have ever done or ever will do. The Repubs spend their time trying to kill the Affordable Care Act and take away protections for pre-existing conditions. Many Repub states refused to expand Medicare even though the Feds were paying almost the entire cost. Repub states, for the most part, have the worst education systems, the lowest minimum wage, do their best to deny union representation for workers, worst health outcomes to name a few failures. Dems brought in SocSec, which Repubs have regularly tried to kill, as well as Medicare and Medicaid etc. Repubs destroy consumer protection laws, because that really helps the working class, and protect the pay day loan companies who bleed working people dry with horrific interest rates. I'll stop there, or I will get carried away.
The Dems are not perfect, but ***** Yang for even opening his mouth on the subject. If he has ideas, sit with the administration and present them, but do not shit on the party you sought a nomination from. It is time to be constructive, not destructive. If you have nothing to contribute, **** off.

Andrew Yang wouldn't recognize working class, even if it was shagging his missus.

I think he thought he could buy some of them with his $1,000 a month give-a-way during his campaign.

I don't have to worry about party unity because there is no socialist party for me to be unified with.

If you're dealing in absolutes, then yes the Democrats traditionally have done more for the working class over say the last 100 years and the progressive wing is there, but the side of the party that the likes of Biden represent are very much the corporatist wing. Most of the true benefits to working people came about from the labor movements of the early 20th century and championed by the likes of FDR. That's not in dispute.

But they do often fall short, especially with things like universal healthcare. It's not out of order to point this out.

it's a symptom of the duopoly though, I'm sick of the lesser of two evils crap. It's about time the DNC gave us someone to vote for, rather than relying in having someone to vote against. It's burning me out.

I'm in no way jumping on the Yang wang lol. I agree with him on UBI and maybe class issues but that's where it ends. He's still a capitalist at the end of the day.

It was probably lip service anyway but eventually the message will be delivered by someone who actually means it.

I get your point and I do not disagree. I would, however, point out that Biden has said he will not seek a second term, which opens the door for other options. Let's consider this election as cracking the door open for further change.

Obviously Kamala will run if Biden does not, and no doubt 3,495 other egotistical candidates just to make a real circus out of it. . So, another shit show. Hell, I'm not sure I will still be breathing in 4 years, so I may never know.
