It's weird how the "locker room talk" was defended. It was as if they thought that saying the word "pussy" was the bad thing and not the (true or untrue) boast about sexually assaulting women. I guess it worked though.

It's the same with TV. Cable TV might not be regulated the same way as regular terrestrial TV. but it's all still about what you can get past the advertisers. Take AMC (Walking Dead) as an example you can have Spoiler:

I hate to see her punished for the failed Clinton campaign. But there is something to be said for knowing when to leave. John Boehner is having the time of his life. Harry Reid is looking particularly prescient at the moment as well. In light of the Dems losing 60 plus seats in Congress since 2009 and what appears to be a mass defection of blue collar workers to the GOP it's quite obvious that she needs to go. The Party however might bury it's head in the sand, oblivious to the catastrophe and keep her on She's been overrated for far to long. A failure as House Speaker, failure as Senate Majority Leader, failure as Senate Minority Leader. Although I don't hold it against her she a very wealthy person living in San Francisco. She also failed at being an astronaut, a doctor, a teacher... really, there's no end to the jobs she's failed at. |

What blue collar workers need is more jobs operating backhoes! Backhoe jobs for everybody!

I do not like Pelosi for the obvious reasons, do not know him so will not comment. I do not remember Pelosi talking part in the Election campaign? Obviously may have missed it, or Harry Reid for that matter. |
Re: 2016 Election
So Mr. "I never settle a lawsuit" Trump.....just settled the Trump University suit for 25 million.
Donald Trump settles Trump University lawsuits - Nov. 18, 2016 This settles the civil suit and I am not sure how this might influence any fraud charges. |

. Heavy equipment operator is a decent job and so is truck driving. They require skills, training, criminal background checks, and drug testing. A lot of these unemployed males will not pass muster. Besides, there is not a huge shortage of qualified people for these jobs in those states. |

It sounds very Trumpish, promising the jobs that people think they'd like rather than the jobs that are actually available. I don't know much about Tim Ryan but Pelosi definitely needs to go. She's a non achiever. I can understand that she doesn't. Hanging out for years in Washington's corridors of power with all the perks must be very addictive. As Speaker of the House when the Dems held the majority I can remember her spouting off about what a wonderful world it was going to be for the middle working class. She failed and the GOP gained the majority later on and held on to it ever since. It's the failure of leadership that has enabled Trump to hijack the working class vote. I doubt he'll deliver but the Dems need to clean house and the time has come. |

Very nice house on Pacific Heights, although I think most of the wealth comes from her husband. BTW I'm sure we are going to have a woman President one day and in the not too distant future. If Michelle Obama ever decides to run she'll get my vote any time. She did a better job at the election rallies than Hillary did. |
Re: 2016 Election
The one person who bothers me most is Paul Ryan. You members of the younger generation may just one day be reading about Medicare and Social Security in the history books

Yes. I understand that. How is Ryan going to deliver those jobs in areas that have no economy? It's the same argument that I've been making ... people will have to retrain and some of them are going to have to move to areas with better economies. I agree, the leadership in those states have failed to attract new businesses. That sort of development takes money and it takes decades. These are empty promises.
America has been pouring billions of dollars into other countries across the globe for 70 years. Why not start investing some our tax dollars at home? |
