Re: 2016 Election
It's obviously Trump's refusal to admit to being wrong on anything that is prolonging this whole speech debate. Any rational campaign would have admitted "certain similarities" and had a low-level fact checker fall on his/her sword by this morning, and the world would be moving on. (Though, going by some of his previous statements they may not employ fact checkers.) Melania could even have issued an innocuous release about sharing the First Lady's desire to make a better world for our children (Michelle isn't running for office). Instead his obstinacy has created a monster that continues to grow.

Re: 2016 Election
I'm seeing this essay called "On Bullshit" being passed around in reference to Trump. Seems to sum him up rather well.
As such, bullshit can be neither true nor false; hence, the bullshitter is someone whose principal aim—when uttering or publishing bullshit—is to impress the listener and the reader with words that communicate an impression that something is being or has been done, words that are neither true nor false, and so obscure the facts of the matter being discussed. In contrast, the liar must know the truth of the matter under discussion, in order to better conceal it from the listener or the reader being deceived with a lie; while the bullshitter’s sole concern is personal advancement and advantage to their own agenda. |
Re: 2016 Election
What's with all the former reality tv "stars"? Are these the only people the GOP can find that are willing to put their name to this event?

Whoever let Carson out last night? He's really lost the plot. |

No cheering. Even though I don't like Clinton...I try to see both sides...thus my comments on Carson. Whoever let Carson out last night? He's really lost the plot. He is a bigger nutcase than Trump. Insane that he would even run for office. |

Re: 2016 Election
Whose the idiot who was ranting on about China and Mexico stealing jobs? Chine and Mexico haven't "stolen jobs". The big US manufacturing companies chose to move there for the cheap labor and higher profits.
Make America great again ! How often do they keep spouting that out. America is still great IMO. On a scale of "greatness" it probably reached the highest point between 1945 and 1958 when Europe was still struggling to recover from WW2, China still a medieval, feudal society newly under the rule of a Communist government and Japan just beginning to turn out cars that were considered something of a joke. America truly ruled the world economically and industrially. On the downside a black American was still segregated from the rest of society and there were still a few lynchings in places like Mississippi Telling people that the clock can be put back is political BS at it's worst. Times have changed in 70 years. I see a strong similarity between the GOP propagandists and the Brexit crowd over the pond. |

I mean if people get to use fictional literary characters as an excuse to **** up innocent civilians, can't elected officials choose one to be a fan of? |
