This is one reason that you can't deal with the typical Amercan right-winger: When they aren't crafting third-rate strawman arguments, then they're just making s**t up. It isn't a matter of disagreeing, but of one side on believing "facts" that simply are not true.

What was he doing for the first 2 years of his presidency when the Dems controlled both houses?

Wasting his time trying to reach consensus with people who weren't interested. Really, he should have given it six months at most before giving up on Republicans. He didn't have the backbone to do it though.

IIrc the 60th vote in the Senate was Joe Lieberman, who was an independent at that point.

Have you figured out yet that black unemployment has fallen during Obama's presidency, or does this "crazy s**t" persona of yours preclude you from acknowledging that you are utterly wrong about pretty much everything?
I believe my point about black unemployment was average unemployment which hasn't actually fallen, it has gone up but cheers for the personal abuse. How old are you again?

Correct, no backbone. That's the nicest thing you can say about this president

I think that his vision for himself and his legacy clashed with reality; he genuinely saw himself as a unifying figure. He ignored the fact that the GOP would seek to destroy him just as they tried to destroy Bill Clinton. They especially did not want Obama to emerge as a sort of FDR-type figure in the wake of crisis -- they remember that their party was almost irrelevant for two decades after Hoover.

Certainly true for those two years, imo. Of course, now that he's subsequently found some, you're whining about it.

Er, I provided you with a link to BLS data that says the exact opposite.

You are 100% wrong, and you can't even read a simple chart that illustrates the point. "Intelligent conservative" has become an oxymoron.

Let's be fair, it wasn't actually two years.

Debunking the Myth: Obama's Two-Year Supermajority

Plus, for the short time Obama had a supermajority, he still had to get consensus from the likes of Bernie Sanders on the left and Joe Lieberman on the right.

Even if he did have a supermajority, the president cannot actually submit a bill to congress. Only a senator or representative can do that.

True, but effective presidents can carry their Congressional delegation forward to support their agenda. Reagan, for example, was very effective at doing that.

Right, I can't see Trump (or Cruz for that matter) managing those sorts of feats unless they just bully them.

Talking of repeating things until they become the truth. So much faux outrage at Obama not attending Nancy's funeral and sending Michelle instead. When it is fairly solid White House protocol to send the current First Lady to the funeral of a former First Lady and for the President to not attend.

American democracy in full swing! Freedom of speech, eh!

Finally, folks coming out in numbers to stop the hatemonger, Drumpf! IMHO, it's better to stop him through the ballot rather than bulldozing his rallies.
