Aside from Kasich... I disagree with his policies towards women but give him credit for not joining the rest in a school yard "debate".

That was a fair analysis during the earlier R debates, but at this point, the R debates have been pretty much Trump/Cruz/Rubio, so not much difference in participation levels. It's just a simple fact that Sanders is NOT willing to drag the debate into the gutter - in much the way Kasich TRIES to behave in the R debates (if only he got time to talk!).

Should car manufacturers be liable for defects in their products? Would you disagree that cars have improved in terms of safety due to the fact they are liable for such issues? Or do you think cars would be 'so much better' if only they didn't have to deal with pesky lawsuits ?

If the gun industry applied the same innovation and technology that has been applied to the car industry I would suspect we could have guns that could only be operated by the legal owner, as an example. And if that means you can't buy a gun for $50, so be it.

There are guns that can only be operated by their owners...but the NRA fights tooth and nail to prevent it from becoming mandatory

Arnie endorsed Kasich today. Let's just unpack that. Schwarzenegger is slotted to take over the Donald spot on that stupid TV show. This all comes amidst the brew haha over the GOPs desperate need to have Kasich win Ohio.

He has to the best of my knowledge never claimed to be atheist, spiritual, but not religious is what I remember him saying a month or two back. But the Jewish bit is an ethnic term rather than a religious one.

Not sure how it's the fault of gun manufacturers that a mentally ill 20 year old got hold of his mother's guns and shot dead a bunch of kids as in Sandy Hook but yeah, that was totally the fault of Bushmaster, etc.

In that particular situation, perhaps requiring people to keep their guns secure would have done the trick - a number of prosecutions of people who don't keep their guns safe might change matters. But if, over the past 100 years, gun manufacturers had spent times making guns only work for the intended, legal owner, then yes, that mentally ill person may not have been able to operate those guns.

Today, I can get into my car in a completely drunken state, drive irresponsibly, and smash into other cars. This is clearly my fault, but still, several decades of safety improvements have led to a situation where the amount of damage I could do is likely way less than if cars were exactly as they were 50 years ago.

Anyway - I don't want to turn this into yet another gun thread so I'll let it drop.

I cut myself on a kitchen knife, obviously a manufacturing defect, inherently dangerous product with absolutely no safety features, unlike say, a gun.

How do these manufacturers get away with it?
