I don't play rugby but I have friends who played on Philadelphia Rugby Club back in the late sixties, early seventies. We usually had a party after a game and one was at the British Legion in North Philadelphia. Someone told the manager that I had been in the British army. The man only had a few full members, most were American associate members so he trailed me all evening, trying to get me to join. I had no interest, it hadn't been my choice to go into the army, it was HM Queen's, I lived over a hour away, and the place was just a dog kennel anyway. But he kept trying, even as we walked out the door. The place gets busy when the Royal Navy visits but that's about it.
