I'm collecting for the British Legion again this year. If anyone wants a poppy, send me a PM, and we can arrange a donation and delivery.

[Edit: I was thinking $2 or so for a poppy - does that seem reasonable? If you can send me a stamped addressed envelope I'd appreciate it as I'll be paying for postage costs otherwise. 100% of donations go in the tin).

Not that this helps you, but folks in Boston....can pick one up at the consulate, they have a bunch by the front desk, but they tend to go quick.
I still have a couple spare from last year, so I just dunk a couple bucks in the local VFW collection tin

My suggestion is not to set a price

Yeah, but postage is a bit hefty as these fall apart if they aren't wrapped well and that comes out of someone's pocket, so needs to be a minimum for the OP to make it worth its while...

I didn't mean to set a fixed/minimum price or anything - any donation is of course welcome, and I won't use any of the donated money for postage (hence why I'm hoping people can send stamped SAEs).
All donations go in the tub - though it might be best not to send coins in the post, unless you put them in a jiffy bag or similar!
I'll dismantle the poppies before posting them out to give the paper parts a bit more protection.
Thanks for any and all support.![Thumbs Up](https://britishexpats.com/forum/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
Cheers,
Stephen.

Not to take the thread too far afield but did you see this story? Minders are going out with some sellers to protect them from insults and abuse.
WTF?
Royal British Legion minders for young poppy sellers

I just hope it's a case of us offering the kids more protection, rather than things getting worse.
There's a lot of good youngsters out there, but it just takes a few bad ones...

Lol - poor Bob... that 33c came from an office pocket-emptier (there's always one!), but no donation is ever turned away!
Good idea on the e-mails, will help me to get organised for next year; PM away.
Cheers,
Stephen.
