Jim.
I just saw that. Too sad. I've never heard of a situation where so many fire fighters have died. A tragedy for their families. I have no concept of the courage it takes to walk into a wildfire. R.I.P

Edited to say that the number is now 19. Horrible.

I'm in Mesa, whch is a fair distance away from Yarnell, so we're not in danger of the fire. But one of my best friends lives in Yarnell, I just called her to see what's going on, she said they have evacuated and are staying in a safe place for now (her, her husband, and their cat). But as of yet, she has no idea if their home is destroyed or not, or what will happen. She's in shock.

So sad...

A truly awful tragedy. Such brave people. My heart goes out to their families, friends, colleagues and their communities.

9/11? Although I'm sure you meant in a fire.

This is a terroble event though, one dosen't expect to go to work and never come home. Thoughts to their family, it isn't a nice way to go

Yes, only in a fire. I hate thinking about how many were lost on 9/11.

Read this last night. Very sad indeed. I can only imagine what their families must be going through.

I've known quite a few fire fighters both here and in the UK. They are an extremely brave and selfless group who go into situations that calls for a very special kind of courage. Fire jumpers are the bravest of them.
