Re: Exchange rates
Change your cash in Thailand, far better rate than in the UK, currently the rate for cash is in the region of 49.44 (though it hasn't been this high for a while) and 49.76 for Travellers Cheques. Like all International Airports the rate in Suvarnabhumi isn't the best so just change enough for your immediate needs on arrival, The Kasikorn Bank near the entrance to the Airport Train Link claim to give the best rate. ATM withdrawals incurr a charge of 150 Baht a pop, plus whatever your UK bank charges.
It's currently the rainy season here in Bangkok, but the rains normally clear mid to late October and should be more or less clear come November, if if the rains are still with us it doesn't rain all day, or even every day. The temperature will be in the region of 32-34 degrees C.

Agree with what the second poster says.Never used an ATM so cant comment on those rates but you will get better rates in Thailand for cash and travellers cheques.Quite easy to change money too as depending on what area of Bangkok you are going to as there are quite a few money exchange booths around.
For good weather information a good site is the Thai Metereological Department.
Here is the Bangkok section part of it where you should be able to get historical information too.

Just a quickie addition to what's already been said (to which I agree). as to using cards in ATMs, if you go into the branch instead and use the debit card to withdrsaw over the counter, then there is no charge (saves 150 a pop). I also heard that ATM transactions incur the business rate rather than consumer rate on exchange, which is a better rate - but not sure how true or consistant this is.
