Prefer the easiest, not necessarily the cheapest

Thanks

Thanks for that, but just a little more info would be appreciated.

Where is Soi Bearing ?

What is the fare likely to be ?

What should I look out for, potential difficulties, taxis using / not using the meter , toll charges .......

Thanks guys

Soi Bearing is the last stop on the Skytrain, so the closest point to Pattaya. You probably wont get anyone to go on a meter ( but they might ) because it's a long way but I would guess that it would be 1200+ depending on the driver. Incidentally, you should be able to get back to BKK cheaper because the taxi will have a had a fair going down there. Passenger pays any toll charges on top. They wont be much though.

I might be wrong on the charges but I don't really go to Pattaya. Horrible place IMO but each to their own. One man's wine........

Thanks guys but I was disappointed by the lack of interest.

But thanks to those who did try to help.

I have decided that instead of going from Penang to Patayya to renew my Filipino wife's one month visa we will just take the mini van bus to Hat Yai.

So if the moderator sees this, I would be grateful if you close the thread down.

Odd comment to make about lack of interest. People have tried to help, how many posts do you need Maybe a degree of self-help / research wouldn't go amiss

Atilla, Sorry, but my posting here was 'self help'.

I was asking like minded people for their on the spot advice, just like people have been asking me over the years on posts and in person.

The reply I have highlighted was the only info I received, I apologise if you thought that was more than I did.

No need to apologise to me at all It's just that these forums I find are frequented by many folks, only a few of whom may be able to answer any specific question. Others may be away or otherwise unavailable. It's not necessarily a lack of interest because there are few replies. Also, maybe others that viewed also thought the question had already been answered as best it could, no point repeating the same answer

You can try one of the bus services at Ekkamai, it is a comfortable air-con bus...

For those that are still interested - I agree with the above recommendation. Taxis are risky for several reasons.

I think there is actually a train that goes down there once a day but I've never used it.

There is a train but it takes quite a long time. There are actually bus services to Pattaya from all the major bus stations in BKK , Ekkamai , Morchit , and the Southern Bus Terminal. You can also get a bus from Suvarnabhum airport. There are also minivans that go there from Victory Monument and other locations too. Personally I see no problem with a taxi. It is quick and as long as you agree your fare beforehand then there shouldn't be a problem.

Taxi. Nice and easy. Organise the fare beforehand. Used to be about 1500 baht. Make sure you get one of the newer cabs. On the way back u can organise for the same taxi to come down for u if you are happy with his service.

Hey its a dead thread,so ill use it to put in my dead related comment, off subject of course.Apoligies!

Subject :Pattaya is bad for your health!

I got 4 mates,Kiwis, that have croaked in Pattaya over the last several years older blokes, hitched up with local partners,so whats happening,it appears to be an unhealthy town
Ill be there later this year,2012,so im not scared at all!
Did they just kark it from having too much fun or Viagra?
Who signs the death certificate?
Who got the money??
The last one was found dead alone in his unit a week after he died, and he had a local minder/partner???
I love a conspiracy??
Nothing implied of course.
Oldies do kark it.
Natural selection I think its called
Any Thoughts?
