You could look on thai visa dot com classified section and on the forum I think there are some pinned links to websites in english.

Anywhere from Sathorn to Phra Khanong, as long as you're within a 10 minute (maximum) stroll of a BTS station, you won't be too sweaty when you get there, it's the quickest way to travel. If you have a car, hope you have some DVD's in it, as you'll just sit in traffic, and sit, sit, sit.
Enjoy BKK, lots of new developments and plenty of condos to rent. Try at least three agents, as you'll find prices will be higher when you're a farang! ;-)
