Sorry to ask another quetion

Sorry to ask another quetion, I seem to be on every week asking something but I do appreciate the responses I'm receiving and they are all very helpful.
Scenario: A mate of mine from a nursing profession has just been told that his qualifications do not fulfil all Aus requirements and that for him to be essentially qualified to be a nurse he must follow a course lasting for about 4 months and without pay. He will then receive a basic nursing wage until he moves up the scale within time. He is a trained physio and has a degree / MA in Psychology but enjoys nursing for which in the UK is highly qualified.
My question therefore is that if I am unable to provide evidence of me completing 30 days of practical TP training as part of my PGCE, will I drop to the lowest income. I have over 13 years of experience and on top of the threshold and certainly can't afford to drop to a basic salary. Sorry, to help clarify, I need to provide evidence of completing 30 days practical teaching o my PGCE and I don't have this evidence and the Univ. do not have records going back far enough, not even archive.

Have you already registered with WACOT?
If yes, for the Ed dept payscale they are only interested in your actual work experience. So you need to provide bullet point references to prove last 7 years work experience. You dont need 13yrs to go get to top of payscale (can go higher but need to do Aus courses). So dont bother getting 13 yrs worth if different employers.

Thanks Gems you seem to live up to your name on this site, especially for taking the time to read my essay (!!). You must be an English teacher!
It's sad and bloody annoying but my agent has told me that my PGCE qualification may not be suitable if I can't prove that I completed 30 days. I must have completed well over 100. It's driving me around the bend considering my experience etc. Can't believe it could prevent me from getting over. Thanks again

As Gems pointed out DET only interested in work experience when deciding where on the pay scale you belong. For WACOT registration, I too struggled to prove number of days on teaching practice, but then I read it again and realised that proof of TP only essential if you're straight off your PGCE, ie with no teaching experience...so with 13 years [proven]experience, you're laughing!

Thanks,
I feel much better now and honestly it has nothing to do with the bottle of wine I've just opened or the Indian food being ordered. Just hope I can secure a job!!!!!!!

I am a teacher who is doing relieving at the moment as i have found it very difficiuilt to gain a permanent position. I usually get the not enough nz experience as a reason why i dont get offered jobs. I do loads of relieving at one school and was turned down for a terms work as not enough nz exp but was told i wud be a great teacher for that class! its so frustrating as i was a teacher for 4 years prior to coming here. Was also a nursery nurse for 15 years prior to that so do know something about education good luck to all who come out here. I am heading off back to uk at xas to be with my family and look for work I know it wont be easy but will at least have my kids and grand kids around me.

I have all my certicates, my transcript and letter from my degree, a certificate for my PGCE but a crappy letter and a general transcript from Bolton University (on letter headed paper tho- but no university crest etc)- just stating that I did the course and verified who I was. Doesnt even break down my modules etc
. Even the signature is scanned in lol!!!! However I have been teaching since 1994 - full time since 1998.
