Science teaching in Brisbane
#1
Hi
My hubby is a newly qualified secondary science teacher (Chemistry degree + PGCE)
We've been told that science teachers are in demand in QLD, but the vacancy sites would suggest otherwise....
Anyone out there able to tell us what the situation is for science - particularly in Brisbane?
Cheers
Caroline

Have you read up yet on rural and remote service required by state school teachers, the newly qualified are usually expected to rack up a few years rural or remote service before earning enough brownie points to apply for a job where everyone wants the positions, brisbane or coastal areas.
Other states do this as well, its to ensure huge states can get teachers in the disadvantaged and very remote areas nobody would take jobs in otherwise.

Have you applied for your visa yet? Have you gone on a skilled one based on his teaching? Just be careful that he doesn't need at least 3 years experience.
