Any teachers (especially science) who have done the move able to give advice?
Hi
My partner and I are both science teachers (specialist in physics and biology) who really would like to move over to Australia. We have 5 years experience and we really don't know where to start. We both qualify for the visa I know but do we get our qualifications assessed first? How do we go about getting a job / supply? Do we contact the relevant state education department? We don't want to be completely rural and would like to be within an hour or two of a big city. Sorry for all of the questions I just don't know where to begin so it would be great to hear from anybody who has been through it.
Many thanks

I am in the same position although I am the only teacher of the 2.
Please let me know what advice you have been given becasue I seem to be going round in circles.
There are forms to fill in but it is difficult to know which ones to start with!
Good luck, anyway!

Try using an agency like Smart Teachers
http://www.smartteachers.co.uk/
They deal with Oz and NZ and Canada as well as UK.
They introduce you to schools and help organise visas etc...
Hope it helps!
