I wonder which of Boris's bunglers is getting the chop today? Raab working tirelessly on the beach or Patel giving bucket loads of cash to the French or Lord Frost leaving the door open for unlimited EU imports.

Patel in trouble again? Allegedly holding a meeting with outside interests without civil servants present - a breach of the ministerial code.

(Again) no problem, Pfeffel Johnson has forgiven her and stands fully behind her.

Tory voters and the media won't care, and no-one else's opinion matters, so it'll be business as usual. It's not the first time she's done it, probably won't be the last, and is only the second time she's been found out. How many other times has it happened that we don't know of?

That was a lot of shuffle fun ...

Nasty Patel (Was it 2 or 3 times contempt of court ?) can keep on training her jet-skies in order to drown a few desperate people

But the most hilarious shuffle has to be :
The Truss person to become Foreign Secretary
If ever there had to be proof that Global Britain doesn't think much of the rest of the world.

I dont think it will be difficult for her to out perfom Raab. The most worrying thing is he might become PM.
I wonder how Zahawi will do at Education?

Here's my £5 to get the ball rolling. I will, of course, expect to be awarded the contract for the Penryn-Newquay Canal. I have no expertise in Trench digging but it can't be too dissimilar to snow plowing which I've watched many a time.

I read that as burglars. Quite appropriate.

And the reshuffle today did what it was supposed to, so the media is talking more about the reshuffle than about the UC vote today...

Universal Credit: Search how your MP voted on cancelling £20-a-week cut

MPs tonight voted 253-0 in favour of cancelling the £20-a-week Universal Credit cut while Boris Johnson was busy with his Cabinet reshuffle. But because the Labour-led vote was non-binding, the Prime Minister will completely ignore its result and push on with the cut anyway.

Only four Tory rebels joined Labour in the lobbies to oppose the cut, with the rest ordered to abstain by Conservative whips.

They were Peter Aldous, Neil Hudson, John Stevenson and William Wragg.

But dozens of Conservative MPs have previously voiced their fears over the cut, which is opposed by six former Tory welfare chiefs along with landlords, debt charities, mortgage lenders, food banks and unions.
I know it's a meaningless vote, but it's not meaningless to those who will lose £20 pw.

And no, it's not 2hrs a week they'd need to work to make that shortfall up, as for every £1 earned, UC deducts 63p, so for each extra hour worked, you're earning 37p.

And that's with factoring an NI rise next year, and the rise in Council Tax, both to pay for social care. And some wonder why people don't bother working more than the bare minimum on benefits... It's nice if you earn enough to not need them, but how many low-skilled jobs paying £400 a week are there realistically.

At the end of the day it's all smoke and mirrors, just another round of ERG's musical chairs in an attempt to distract from reality.

Raaaab had to go, but 'The Truss person' is interesting as a replacement.

Dishi Rishi doesn't appeared to have messed up yet, so he gets to stay, and Ms Patel holds the keys to one of Johnson's fantasy games, the killer ski-boat cop idea likely tops the daft water cannon (non-functional) and various bridge and tunnel scenarios.

Guardian had a feed running today as usual, this I thought interesting.

Foreign relations are at a low anyway. So it's not important.

Like the BoE gov once said, the UK economy depends on the "kindness of strangers"... fark them, the bunch of farkin forners. They need us more than we need them.

It is not obvious what Buckland did wrong. He seemed one of the more competent ministers and was popular in the party.
