I thought about that for a second.. The "no matter how qualified" has no explanation other than racism.
Yeah, her strawman is pretty racist that's for sure.

I'm actually puzzled at people who think the US is somehow less racist than the UK. The UK police don't go around killing black people. You can show an interracial relationship with a black man/white woman on the telly - has that ever happened in the US?
HAS that ever happened in the US?? black white marriages are common in America and it's on TV. the US police doesn't go around killing black people, that's a myth. the police is more aggressive in the US but that's not a race thing, more whites get killed than blacks by police in various incidents.

But again blacks make up less than one percent of the population in the UK as oppose to 13% in the us. 600,000 vs 35 million in the US.

Sure mate but it's hard to engage in a reasoned debate with someone who doesn't know the difference between a native reservation and a concentration camp.

Ah. Dbd isn't that daft!

We're Brits, expect sarcasm and don't take it too seriously.

Well, don't take my word for it. Statistically, you'll find far more successful entrepreneurs, scientists, medical professionals, and politicians of colour (not limited to blacks) in the US than in Europe... or the "EU" (population about the same as the US).

And please don't start on the UK. The UK is far more culturally, politically, and economically similar to the US than Europe, although few Brits would ever admit to that. But unless you've lived in continental Europe, you probably wouldn't notice. The UK is hardly representative of "Europe".

Just did a quick Google search regarding your claim, here's the first link I found:

Show us the stats then (so we don't have to take your word for it)...

Well, I've done that ad-nauseum in other threads, embarrassed the shit out of those who wish to fight about it whilst providing me with clear evidence of my point, and made made a few enemies...

Google is your friend (and sometimes your enemy). Look it up.

Do you really want to proceed?

Edit: Just a tip: A wikipedia war will reveal that there are very few successful/notable/prominent persons of colour in Europe - especially compared to the US (again, similar populations). You need to find obscure, off-the beaten-track articles to find supporting evidence that the US is less racially equal.

I suppose it's like the stereotype that Europeans are somehow more fiscally "moral", yet if you look history, take for example the European debt crisis, you'll find no sense of "fiscal morality" in it anywhere, and in issues like tax evasion, Europeans are right up there with the Russians, and by comparison, Americans are far less likely to evade taxes. But again, don't take my word for it. Look it up.

Perception is what it is. Funny how weird the world is, eh?

If you've already done the legwork, then yes, why not post a few links for us to evaluate your assertions.

It's not about embarrassing the shit out of anyone, it's about substantiating a point.

Europe and the U.S. have different ethnic histories, with non-whites making up a larger proportion of the base population in the U.S. than that in Europe, and for a longer period. Language is less of an issue in the U.S. too. It would be interesting to see how the statistics consider these structural differences.

Just to return to "President" Trump.

I can't make up my mind is he an idiot or is he very clever.

In business life I get the impression Trump is a bit of a gambler usually he loses but when he wins he wins big. No what happens if between now and the republican nominations there is a major terrorist incident in the US and one or more of the perpetrators happens to be a Muslim who has recently entered the US? What are the odds?

He is very irresponsible. Stoking up racism at a national level is dangerous. he may be playing an extension of his celebrity games and lifelong ego trip, but there are many unclever and unworldly Americans that buy into his warped ideas. The other Republican candidates should take the opportunity to boot him out and away ASAP.

The problem the republicans face is if they boot him out he might run as an independent candidate. If that happens does that guarantee that the democrats win? But if they don't boot him out do the democrats win anyway?

So who is the next democrat president? Corrupt, lying Hillary? :-(

If Hillary Clinton ends up as the next US president can anyone be surprised that anti establishment populists are popular?

LOL, more straw. Who said anything about finances.

Anyway, just so we are clear - are you saying that the UK is more racist that the US? (cos I cgaff what goes on in Europe so I'll let other people argue that).

Yeah, but black people are so segregated in the US that you have things like AAVE and what have you.
