Many people here live in shipping container houses. We have malls made from shipping containers. It is not considered bad.

And .. in that nut job post you feature, the poster (Major Patriot,) purports to show a portion of the main picture magnified to show a detail. The “detail” is self-evidently a different photo.

Repubs might spin it, but It was retaliation for attacks in the past few weeks on U.S. troops in the area.

No it didn't did it.
Apparently if you're an american president and you want to send someone a message then you write it on a missile, light the blue touch paper and wave bye bye.
One obvious problem with this of course is that once the missile goes bang the message gets lost among the hundreds of pieces of red hot shrapnel that indiscriminately makes everyone duck and cover. The lasting impact it leaves is a big hole in the ground and another in diplomacy.
"Ahhh... " I hear you say, "Wasn't this in retaliation for rockets fired in Iraq?"
"Yeah.." Comes the reply, "But we fancied Siria instead, easier to spell than Irack... an' it was closer."

Settle down there fella. Let's try to remember who got the U.S. stuck in the middle there by invading Iraq under false pretenses and ****ing it up so badly that there really was not much choice about having to stick around to try and clean up the mess. Get a copy of Fiasco and read it if you truly want to know what a screw up that whole G.W. Bush adventure was. If U.S troops are there and are fired upon, I fully expect retaliation for it. It would be an abdication of the responsibility to protect the troops if no action were taken in defense of those troops. That said, I wish they would just pull out and establish a rapid response base at a base a reasonable distance from the area to deal with any activity by a terrorist group. The U.S. and the Brits before them have made a mess of the entire Middle East. And a steep price has been paid, by all sides, ever since.

I second that. As a Brit I was, and still am, disgusted at the way Tony Blair lied to Parliament and led Britain into a war with that idiot Bush. Those two, and particularly Blair have never been held to account.

Blair was doing what any other Tory and Tory-lite PM was doing in office. Where the US military went to war, the UK government followed.

I agree Blair should be at least have been held accountable for his lies, but that's never going to happen under either the Tories or a Starmer Labour party, and Corbyn didn't stand a chance of doing anything about it because the right-wing side of the party kept him on the defensive. The same establishment that gave Blair a free ride is still protecting him.

And I suspect those MPs who believed the lies don't want any serious investigation as they'll also be seen in the same way. It's self-preservation.

Strange that in condemning Blair you manage to get a dig in to the Tories! As regards following the USA into war I can't think of any Tory P.M that has done what you say. No doubt you will enlighten me!

Well they did back Blair on the decision to a far greater degree than did Labour.

Something that appears to have been forgotten since.
