Under Brexit the rest of the world will have to conform to GMT.
No more UK bankers having to work unsociable hours to satisfy the demands of overseas markets.
It is they who will have to meet our demands.

Shame the same option doesn't apply to the Eu.
Really! We don't actually vote anyone out. We just vote someone else in instead 5yrs after we voted the last one in.

Which is the same as happens with EU elections every 5yrs. We don't vote out EU leaders anymore than we vote our own out. There are ways to dissolve Parliament, but neither you or I can actually do that ourselves.

It may interest you to know that the rest of the World already uses GMT as a standard reference.

Also commonly referred to as Zulu time.

"Zulu" time is that which is more commonly know as "GMT" ( Greenwich Mean Time ) or time at the Zero Meridian. Our natural concept of time is linked to the rotation of the earth and we define the length of the day as the 24 hours it takes (on average) the earth to spin once on its axis.

As time pieces became more accurate and communication became global, there needed to be a point from which all other world times were based.

Since Great Britain was the world's foremost maritime power when the concept of latitude and longitude came to be, the starting point for designating longitude was the " prime meridian " which is zero degrees and runs through the Royal Greenwich Observatory, in Greenwich, England ."

If you don't like the system then vote for someone whose proposed system you do prefer.

Simple.

It's called Democracy.

We don't have that option with Eu .

Furthermore, as you well know, or should do anyway,
MEPs are powerless as regards formulating new Eu policies of any great significance.

I'd like to vote for Proportional Representation for all elections, but the government isn't interested, saying that as there'd been a referendum on the Alternative Vote (which is nothing like the PR voting system).

We don't have that option in the UK either, as I stated above. The government wants to keep the status quo, and Labour is too busy trying to go against the leader elected by it's members.

MEPs are powerless as regards formulating new Eu policies of any great significance.
European Commission at work

The Commission has the right of initiative to propose laws for adoption by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU (national ministers). In most cases, the Commission makes proposals to meet its obligations under the EU treaties, or because another EU institution, country or stakeholder has asked it to act. From April 2012, EU citizens may also call on the Commission to propose laws (European Citizens’ Initiative).
MEP's are part of the EU Parliament, which as one of the EU institutions can ask the Commission to act, as I've shown in the quote. You and I can also ask the Commission to propose laws. Where are we able to do that for Westminster?

So your beliefs appear to be wrong again.

The Undemocratic EU Explained - It Will Never Change | Huffington Post

"The Eu law making process is fundamentally undemocratic.
Power is vested in the unelected and unaccountable elite who make laws - in secret - to preserve the status of large multinationals at the expense of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Multinationals achieve their preferential status by spending enormous sums of money on lobbying. They create a complicated regulatory framework, which only large companies with their Human Resources departments can comply with. This drives small competitors out of business, destroys competition and encourages monopolies, forcing the consumer to pay a higher price for poorer quality goods and services."

The link is to an opinion piece by Matthew Ellery, whose HuffPost bio says he's a
Trained Barrister and Research Executive at Get Britain Out a prominent Eurosceptic campaign group advocating the UK's withdrawal from the European Union
.

So he's hardly likely to be unbiased.

And the article is full of lies and half-truths.

One from your own bible !

"The Eu is now a profoundly anti-Democratic Institution !

The miserable farce of David Cameron’s “renegotiation” of Britain’s membership of the EU has only served to underline the regressive and undemocratic nature of that institution (Report, 16 February). We know from extreme austerity enforced on the people of Greece that the union is not only undemocratic in itself but also anti-democratic in the profound sense that its institutions will not allow the democratically expressed view of the majority of people to stand if it runs counter to the free market project."........

"NOT ONLY UNDEMOCRATIC BUT ALSO ANTI-DEMOCRATIC" ! ! !

Cameron got almost everything he asked for. What he didn't get that he really wanted was an opt-out from the Working Time Directive, which limits the maximum hours an employee can be contracted to work unless the employee agrees to more than this.

The problem wasn't that he didn't get what he asked for, but that because he got more than many expected him to, that they feel he should have asked for more.

BREXIT VOTERS OUTRAGE AT HAVING TO DRINK FILTHY WATER.

Clean water

The EU has strict rules about the cleanliness of drinking water, and of the water in which we bathe. In other words, for as long as we are in the EU, we are denied the right to drink filthy water or swim in sewage-polluted sea.
