Ah - it's good to be getting democracy back from those faceless bureaucrats isn't it?

...Brexit has nothing constitutionally to do with the Scottish and Northern Ireland devolved governments, that parliament ‘clearly understood’ it was surrendering any role it might have in Brexit by passing the EU Referendum Act, that it has no control over making and withdrawal from treaties and that individuals can have fundamental rights conferred by acts of parliament stripped away if and when the executive withdraws from the treaties on which they are based.

On R5 this lunchtime was a feature on the Northeast of the UK an area hit by the closure of heavy industry.
An are where there was a majority leave vote, immigrants etc etc.
The reality of employment in the UK has come home to roost.
Because of the large numbers of locals seeking work ( not immigrants ) jobs which before the closure of the local steel works which paid 10pound hours are now advertised to new applicants at 7pounds hour.
Other interviewed admitted that they are having to look further afield in the UK for work at much lower wage levels.
Immigration is not the cause of the low pay crisis or lack of suitable jobs for those previously employed in heavy industry.
Brexit will not create the high paid jobs they used to enjoy.

Elephants aren't British, neither are tigers.

And as for Rule Britannia, Britain hasn't ruled the waves in decades.

Britain leaps into seventh place in competitiveness rankings as powerhouses Germany and Japan slip

It came as European powerhouse Germany slipped one place into fifth as the eurozone continues to grapple with low growth and inflation.

While the rankings do not take into account June's Brexit vote, the WEF said there were reasons to be optimistic about the UK's competitiveness.

It said the decision to leave the EU meant the Government could set policies and regulations that were "optimal" for the UK instead of having to "compromise" with 27 other EU member states.

Bad case of selective quoting. You should present the full picture.

"However, the WEF warned that leaving the bloc could increase trade barriers that would raise costs for businesses and consumers.

It also warned that the vote to leave risked diminishing the UK's ability to attract and retain top talent.

Short term uncertainty surrounding Britain's future trading relationships was also likely to weigh on the economy.

"Economic repercussions of the vote are already being felt and will probably be amplified once actual treaty changes are implemented," the WEF said in its annual Global Competitiveness Report."
