It is just Tory party rhetoric to show that Brexit is progressing (as it is!)
On this thread just another way of disparaging those who have different opinions to yours and other Remainers who post here.
Happy Christmas EMR.

Do you really think people voted for Brexit because of the colour of passports or because of bananas??

Indeed, what about them! Oliver Healy had a point -
Brexit campaigner admits he set up second EU referendum petition signed by three million people | The Independent
Edited to add: The relevance is the voting criteria in his petition.
(My machine is driving me mad, forcing me to keep reposting as it keeps saying "connection has been reset". I blame Brexit!

Did you believe the NHS lie.
Did you believe that the ECJ controlled every aspect of UK law.
That UK laws were made in Brussels
Did you believe that leaving would reduce immigration ALL immigration.
Did you believe that the UK was ruled from Paris or Brussels.
I could keep posting multiple reasons that those who voted to leave have voiced in discussions pre and post the vote.
The majority of which had were not accurate or will change after we leave.
But we are leaving and Brexiters will have to live with their decision but they will no longer have the EU to blame.

One of the classics which provides a perfect example (& more serious than bendy bananas) was the EU Bass fishing regulations which caused fury among the UK fishing community, fuelled by howls of outrage in the tabloid press but which were introduced by the Commission at the behest of the UK Government - in the words of George Eustice (DEFRA Minister & Brexiteer) "after constant lobbying"
From the Govt. site -

New restrictions on the fishing of sea bass, including the introduction of a minimum catch size, will come into effect from as early as 1 September. This is following action by UK government to protect this iconic and threatened species, Fisheries Minister George Eustice announced today.

Possibly depended where you lived. As a teenager we lived in Portsmouth
and people seemd to be constantly travelling to and from France by the ferry ports. Certainly wasn't rare.
Mass air travel came later --to Spain etc. but that was because of cost--not difficulty with passports.
