But how many concessions would the EU be expected to make, without something offered in return, to a single member state before they say enough is enough?

The EU offered Cameron of the things he was asking for pre-referendum, but it wasn't enough for some blue-KIP Tories.

I'd suggest that the EU will be a better organisation without the UK.

Late to the whole Brexit party thing, but I say keep Great Britain just for English people.
Everybody else should just back to where they came from. Especially Scottish national separatists. And vegans. Get the hell out. And Catholics. This is an English country with English religion.

Octagenarian!

Welcome, at last - better late than never.

I thought you'd be on the other side - you must be right on the cusp, like some of the others here. Enjoy!

I just think foreigners and immigrants should go back to where they came from.
England for the English. America for the Americans. Foreign countries for foreigners.

Wales and Scotland are part of Great Britain too!

And Northern Ireland and Great Britain make up the United Kingdom. It says so on our passport covers, no matter what the colour is.

And people who don't understand that the UK isn't only England should go back to where they came from?

Television Presenter: [Referring to the Morons] ... Commander Madison added that they were highly-intelligent and potentially dangerous...

She was quite the nationalist though, and I don't think she'd be one for ever increasing integration.

Interesting interview a couple of days ago from the head of German industry confederation (something like that) saying that German business (like UK business) views Brexit as a slow motion head on train crash. He said they want to pressure Merkel to pressure the EU to make many of the concessions that Cameron first asked for in order to prevent a Brexit. It was a Channel 4 News interview.

I think the British industry should pressure May to stay in the EU and prevent Brexit. Or do they have no influence or voice? Why do you crisscross around instead of taking responsibility? It's not Germany's task to prevent British economic suicide. Idon't understand why people think that the German industry just has to snap with it's fingers and Merkel will dance and then the EU will dance. Is this how it works in the UK? I doesn't seem so.

I'm only reporting what the German representative said. He was of the view that Brexit will significantly impact Germany and that there is no reason to embark on such a mutually detrimental path. British interests do attempt to influence the UK government, but they don't listen to logic, they only listened to the uninformed electorate whom they relied on for specialist advice.

We shall see. the battle is between factions in the Tory party and their various sponsors.

Like the EU I give it 10 days.

Although the Eurosceptic wing of the Conservatives got us into this mess, there's the much wider culpability of the majority of MPs (including Labour) who don't want to engage on the Brexit issue, but hide behind the referendum mandate. There should be rising dissent at this stage, but they all keep parroting the line "we are leaving the EU". It's annoying!
