Every time I buy a VAT-based item in the UK a proportion of that tax goes to the EU. In 2015 the UK contributed roughly £2.5 billion of our VAT to the EU, while at the same time all EU civil servants got a wage rise, back-dated. That is the sort of EU BS I refer to.
