It's a good tactic. Now is the perfect time to hold the election, because as the reality of Brexit sets in, the Tories are at severe risk.

Well, that's it. Just bought Tory rule before things go all pear-shaped. Brilliant, really.

But... it does pump fuel into the SNP's argument that it needs to protect itself from Tory "dicktatership".

This will focus minds in Scotland. Not the right time Theresa, eh? Playing political games Theresa, eh? She is a proper piece of work.

Oh and where HAVE all the Police investigations into illegal Tory election spending gone off to? The majority would have been wiped out....

Has she seen what Erdogan has done and wants a bit of that action?

Give credit where credit is due: Brilliant move. And absolutely necessary to retain power as it goes pear-shaped (and they now know it will). If they'd waited until 2020, they'd likely be humiliated by an angry electorate.

Now, if they don't start setting expectations more realistically from now on, they'll be humiliated in 2022. I suspect we'll start hearing a different tune soon...

Maybe the expectations management will involve EEA.

An election in 2022 give the Brexit media plenty of time to spin things positively for the Tories.

And there it is.

Power to reconsolidate itself with the same old party that was in power before the referendum.

Still, I'm sure they'll represent "ordinary people" this time, eh? None of those nasty old elites.

They need to win the general election before changing their tune, and it's theirs to lose, so the outcome is rather predictable. And the economy won't likely tank much before 8 June. The shit won't hit the fan for a few years yet, so people will continue to live in a bubble - and British [tabloid] media will make sure that perception prevails.

Right now, there's not any effective opposition, but who knows? Surprises shouldn't surprise anyone nowadays.

Let's see if Bipat etc still believes that May is putting Britain First.
Her Ministers have all returned from their overseas trips with the news No new trade deals before the next election, so go now before we have to admit failure.
No changes to immigration rules etc etc.

It's purely and obviously Party first. The scary thing is that ignoring Brexit what would May and co do with a supermajority in parliament? That is a terrifying prospect no?

I don't know how you could spin it any other way (?) Of course it'll be spun that way. The only way forward (and in Britain's best interests) is Brexit. It means Brexit you know. She repeatedly told you long ago (and so did the tabloids, and have ever since).

Conveniently though, that interpretation is still wide open ...following the election. You know, after we've (hopefully) managed to wipe out any dissent. It was a brilliant move, but time will tell if it achieves the intended purpose. Obviously, they now understand the last political event isn't going to achieve the purpose, which is obviously what led to this. Throwing good political capital after bad? We shall see.

There is one little fact I find rather interesting though... The clock is ticking. Is this diversion really in Britain's best interests at a time when time is precious? Or is it serving the interests of the ruling elite? You know, the same ones we're supposedly fleeing from?

I love irony.

Guden Morgen Ami.

After all this time I am still waiting for one of you moaners to give me a single credible reason for remaining in the Eu.

Other than perhaps to boost the German economy of course,
which is obviously your one and only concern,
if you ever decided to be honest about your motives, just for once.
