Germany, to its enormous credit, teaches every kid the detail and shame of its 20th century history. Indeed, some of the migration crisis (Merkel's "invitation" can be attributed to that shame). Quite unlike Japan's approach to its historical record - as you may know. No "glossing over" by Germany.

Everyone flying into Dublin is checked at immigration. Every time. The CTA doesn't mean that you won't be checked, it means Brits won't need a visa or anything else. Also, that Brits wanted by UK Police don't escape to Eire by commercial airline.

So their continued censorship of any kind of media that relates to Nazi Germany and them petitioning the EU to outlaw the swastika across the bloc was what exactly?

Are you checked by the UK immigration authorities on the way back?

Nope. It might happen at some airports, but every flight I've had from Eire to the UK has never passed through UK immigration.

UK immigration rules

Ireland chooses to check, the UK chooses not to.

So that those who seek to use those symbols to promote hate cannot do so.

Exactly how is censoring The Great Escape or Call of Duty going to prevent white supremacists from spreading propaganda? If anything, that kind of media tends to portray the Nazis in a profoundly negative light.

It wasn't too long ago that the media reported the UK was still spying on the French and the Germans. It caused some embarrassment as I recall. Even in the recent issues with Russia, it has been the Americans and the Canadians who have had our back, not the Europeans.
You really are the classic example if the decline in educational standards in the UK.
Your knowledge of 20th century history can only have come from the back of cereal packets because it has little if any relationship to recorded history...
Something you probably did not know, the US did not declare war on Germany and its allies but only on Japan.
Fortunately for the UK it was Germany and its allies who declared war on the US.
There was little enthusiasm in the US for a European war in the run up to December 1941., apart from the companies making billions of dollars supplying arms to the UK and its allies..

You can barely string a coherent sentence of English together most of the time and you're criticising my educational level?

No, all you just did was illustrated my point perfectly. For example, the word 'obviously' does not have a comma in it.
